This will be quite the battle of young quarterbacks. Interestingly enough, both quarterbacks could have ended up on opposite teams this game.

The Bears traded up with the 49ers to obtain the 2nd overall pick (Mitchell Trubisky). If the 49ers would have been aiming for a quarterback in the draft and kept their pick, they most likely would have chosen Trubisky.

The Bears, on the other hand, were one of the top mentioned teams who would be interested in trading for Jimmy Garoppolo who actually grew up a Chicago Bears fan. It has been mentioned recently that he even used to wear the jersey of future hall of fame linebacker, Brian Urlacher. This will be Garoppolo’s first time going to a Bears game and coincidentally enough, it’s as the opposing starting quarterback.

There is another player on the 49ers that is making a milestone appearance at Soldier Field, as Robbie Gould is going to make his first game appearance in Soldier Field since he was released.

Both the Bears and 49ers seem to have a chance to win this game. If Garoppolo continues to shine and has a fairly decent game through the air, and possibly running the ball as well, it might be hard for the struggling Bears offense to keep up. Trubisky will need to shake off last game like it was a bad habit, make good decisions, and continue to throw accurate passes and, if needed, bring back some of that magic he showed on 4th and 13 when he picked up the first down with his legs.

Last game the Bears did not run the ball well at all; in fact, it was their second-lowest rushing output of yards in team history. Jordan Howard and the Bears will look to add another 200 plus rushing yard game to their season. The 49ers are giving up rushing yards in bulk right in time for the holiday season. The Bears will need to get the running game moving fast and furious in order for Trubisky to successfully run some play action plays among others. Deep down inside of Trubisky, there has to be a sliver of the competitor in him that wants to show the 49ers what they are missing. Trubisky seems to be a great leader and wants to stay as focused on possible.

It will be interesting to see how Solomon Thomas and Reuben Foster perform. The 49ers were able to grab two great defensive centerpieces in the first round of the draft. If the Bears would have ended up with these two athletes I would not have been mad at all. Reuben Foster has been outperforming the 3rd overall pick in Thomas. Foster won the November NFL Defensive Rookie of the Month award. Thomas on the other hand only has 3 sacks so far.

The Bears defense had a very hard time containing the running backs of the Philadelphia Eagles last week and will once again have their hands full with the human wrecking ball.Carlos Hyde.

Both teams have added a ton of new faces. They are not only battling to add to their win column, but there is also the higher draft pick on the line. This will be a game you do not want to miss!

Score Prediction:
Bears – 24 (OT)
49ers – 21
