With the help of Petland and the Miami Dolphins Women’s Organization, the Miami Dolphins were able to put on their annual Holiday Toy Event this past week. There were 125 kids from all over South Florida that were selected to participate in the event.

The annual event had something for everyone. The kids were able to play games such as cornhole and create their own stuffed dolphins with the players and cheerleaders. Everyone walked away a winner, as there were plenty of gifts to go around.

The gifts were purchased by the players and coaches, as is tradition for the Miami Dolphins—one that goes back decades. It would definitely be interesting to see what kinds of gifts came from which players. Hopefully none of the kids received any gag gifts.

Speaking of, it would definitely be even more interesting to see how a white elephant gift exchange would play out between the players, coaches, cheerleaders and kids alike. Hopefully nobody would be tackled to the ground by a player after stealing one of their gifts.

The participants of the annual event included the likes of Kenny Stills, John Denney, Kenyan Drake, Jakeem Grant, MarQueis Gray, Mike Hull, Tony Lippett, Vincent Taylor and Sam Young, among others.

It is truly great to see members of the proud Miami Dolphins organization take the time out of their schedule to make a difference in the community. That rings true especially around the holidays. A moment like tossing a football around with the players will live in a child’s memories forever.

It may just be another day of service for the players, but it means everything to the kids and their families. Especially when players volunteer or partner with organizations such as Big Brothers Big Sisters.

There’s Still a chance

Speaking of holiday cheer and community leaders, there is still a chance for you to receive a gift from a Miami Dolphin. Don’t forget to participate in #10DaysOfStillsmas. Stills has been a leader in the community and has been quite the fan favorite for his play on the field and his actions off the field.

Fans have won Beats by Dre headphones, a Playstation 4, and other items thus far thanks to #10DaysOfStillsmas. There are only a few days left to participate. The ninth gift happens to be a game-worn jersey by Stills himself so don’t miss out.

Be sure to follow your favorite Dolphins year-round to see what they do on and off the field. Fortunately, the Dolphins are big fans of giving back to the community. Stills is a prime example of that, as he strives to make a difference year-round in a variety of ways. Hopefully this trend continues with other players, as movements such as #MyCauseMyCleats have become increasingly more popular. Giving back to the community is in right now. Hopefully it stays that way.
