The Chiefs are back in the good graces of the NFL gods. After winning two straight division home games and now alone in first place in the AFC West. The Chiefs are once again at the cozy confines of Arrowhead Stadium this week, hosting the lethargic Dolphins. The Dolphins endured tough times this season, but anything can happen as the Chiefs have found out this season. Here are the keys to victory that could lead to another Chiefs victory.
Limit Opportunities For Kenyan Drake
The trade of Jay Ajayi to the Eagles earlier this season improved Philadelphia’s chances to being one of the top teams in the NFL. Kenyan Drake flourished, in hoping to become Miami’s running back of the future.
Since the trade, Drake has totaled over one hundred scrimmage yards in four of the seven games. Drake is similar to most of the running backs the Chiefs faced lately like LeSean McCoy and Melvin Gordon. Reggie Ragland gets to welcome his former Alabama teammate. Cutler seems to decline this season. If Cutler needs to throw, that gives the Chiefs defense a huge advantage.
Let the Offense Flow Through Kareem Hunt… Once Again
Kareem Hunt warrants a heavy workload. Since offensive coordinator Matt Nagy took control of the offensive play calling, Hunt regained his earlier form. When Hunt has seen at least fifteen touches in a game this season, the Chiefs are 8-2. Hunt enters this contest only twenty-one rushing yards behind the league leader Le’Veon Bell. Entering Week 16, both Miami and Denver rank in the top half in the league against the run.
