2018 Titans Draft Profile
Name: Rashaan Evans
Weight: 234 pounds
Projected: Rounds 1-2
Rashaan Evans is the perfect modern-day linebacker. His unique combination of speed, athleticism, physicality and overall size makes him a perfect fit for the Titans defense. Evans is a do-it-all player. He can line up at inside linebacker, outside linebacker or even a defensive end. He isn’t just a one-trick pony, as he can go out into coverage with just about anyone. The Titans had 43 sacks in 2017 which respectively tied for 5th with the Los Angeles Chargers. Adding a player like Rashaan Evans to this defense will undeniably put them on track to be a force for the foreseeable future.
Take a look at the speed of Evans, this is from the 2017 National Championship game. Deshaun Watson is an incredible quarterback, however, he has absolutely no time to react to the speedy Evans.
There are some plays where it seems as if Evans was shot straight out of a cannon. His closing speed is unprecedented. Take a look below as Evans blows right past the Huskies left tackle for a game-sealing sack.
Evans can do it all. Here he is making an early deflection in the College Football Playoff against Clemson. Hunter Renfrow is not an easy receiver to keep up with in coverage. Evans, however seems to do it with confidence and ease to start this game.
The Titans need to take a serious look at Evans during the combine and the entire draft process overall. Rashaan Evans would be an immediate starter on the Titans next year if they get lucky enough to grab him in the first round. He has game-changing potential and would fill a multitude of needs for the Titans. Linebackers with this skill set have become a hot commodity of late. You can’t afford to miss on talent in the NFL Draft, picking Evans would minimize the risk of missing. Alabama has been sending out quality linebackers of late, and Rashaan Evans would only add to that list.
