Baltimore Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti announced that long time Ravens general manager Ozzie Newsome will be stepping down after the conclusion of the upcoming 2018 season.
This announcment came at the Ravens anual State of the Ravens address. Biscotti also informed everyone that Ravens assisant general manager Eric DeCosta will take over Newsome’s position.
DeCosta have been with Newsome for 20 years, and during that time the Ravens have won two super bowls and played in 10 playoff games.
Despite the fact that Newsome will be turning 62 on March 16 the team has specified that Newsome will fill some other role for the Ravens.
The loss of Newsome as general manager may be sad for some, but the future should be bright with Eric DeCosta taking over.
