It doesn’t matter if you love or hate preseason football. Starting the season’s festivities at Lambeau Field against the Green Bay Packers just has a nice feel to it. Game two sees Nashville plays host to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Titans finish up the pre-season with a visit from the Minnesota Vikings. Game three you ask? That’s in Pittsburgh against the Steelers. If you believe in measuring stick games in the pre-season to gauge improvement over the previous year then this is it.
Truly the NFL is bringing the best of the best to Nissan Stadium in the 2018 season.
09/30/2018 The Philadelphia Eagles Week 4
The defending world champion Eagles invade Nashville in week XX. The high octane Eagles passing attack (you thought I was going to say high flying didn’t you? Nope I refuse to participate) will test a lot of teams defenses and resolve with Carson Wentz or Nick Foles at the controls. The spent a lot of free agent dollars to improve their secondary to compete in games like this. The answer to the question in the NFL is who can throw the ball and who can stop other teams from throwing the ball. It really is that simple, it’s just not all that easy.
11/11/2018 The New England Patriots Week 10
The defending AFC Champions will have some familiar faces staring back at them when they face Titans in 2018. If you haven’t been around competitive people much then you may believe that Dion Lewis, Malcolm Butler and probably even Logan Ryan don’t have this date circled on their calendars. I believe they and the rest of the Titans emptied several pens of ink for this one.
10/21/2018 The Los Angeles Chargers Week 7
This is really an away game. To be played across the pond in London, England. This is a good football team and my personal pick to win the AFC West this year. The tandem of Joey Bosa and Melvin Ingram will test the Titans heralded offensive line, those two are that good. Add in pro-bowl cornerback Casey Hayward and offenses could be in for some long afternoons against this group. This game could well help shape the face of the AFC playoffs this year.
10/07/2018 The Buffalo Bills Week 5
Buffalo is the third playoff team on what is a four-team list. The Bills will certainly look differently without Tyrod Taylor taking snaps. AJ McCarron should get his chance to start here and it’s up to him to make the most of it.
Texans and Colts and Jaguars oh my. The AFC South promises to be an extremely competitive division. Every team has a legitimate right to believe it can win the division at seasons start save the Colts. But, if Andrew Luck can get his mojo back (and his shoulder to work) then Indianapolis too can change the course of the division and the AFC pecking order. The Titans went 5 – 1 last year in the division. That kind of dominance needs to continue for the Titans to take the next step. You need to be king of your own backyard before you can be king of the block.
