Duke defensive tackle Mike Ramsay was signed by the Titans to a free agent contract. The four-year letterman and senior captain ended his career with 107 total tackles and 7 sacks. He was gracious enough to take time out of his schedule to do the following interview FPC_Titans Managing Editor Dean Williams.
Williams: Mike thank you for taking the time to do this interview. Are you excited to be a Titan or has it all sunk in yet?
Ramsay: I’m incredibly excited! It still seems surreal. I still can’t believe it.
Williams: I’ll bet! Is there a process that you are using to get ready for training camp? Is it different from how you prepared in college?
Ramsay: I’m still training at GATA (Goldin Athletic Training Association), which is where I did my pre-draft training. It’s similar, more intense but I’ve enjoyed it. I love my trainers and the guys I train with.
Williams: Mike are you working to improve a specific area of your game at GATA? Which area do you feel you have the greatest opportunity to improve in?
Ramsay: I’ve been working a lot on getting better with my hands. I feel that I’ve received criticism on shedding blocks and being more stout against double teams.
Williams: Quick violent hands are always a big topic of conversation for defensive linemen. Which part of your game or attribute do you bring, that the Titans will like the most?

Ramsay: Quick hands and overall quickness. I move well and I am good with my hands but like anything else, there’s always room for improvement. I’ll definitely continue to improve my hand quickness and using them more violently.
Williams: Is this opportunity to play in the NFL a lifelong dream coming true or is it just another part of the Mike Ramsay journey?
Ramsay: It’s a huge part of the journey. I think anyone who plays dreams of the opportunity to play in the NFL. It’s incredible to have it. I’m excited about it because I’ve dreamt about it for a very long time.
Williams: Absolutly I agree! One more question. When I played I would always put on my left sock first then the right. Then I’d put on my right shoe and finally the left shoe. Do you have any pre-game rituals or superstitions on game day?
Ramsay: Haha! I always got stretched last by the same strength coach and I also work left to right but no other rituals really. I may develop some though.
Williams: Thanks again for your time! Hopefully, we at FPC_Titans will see you in Titan blue next season. Best of luck to you!
