Around 11:00 am Pacific time on May 29th, free-agent wide receiver Brandon Marshall, formerly of the New York Giants, posted an Instagram post of himself wearing a Seahawks’ jersey.  In the post, three pictures were included, all with Brandon wearing a lime green Seattle jersey adorned with the number 12. Instantly, the social media world exploded; Is this a joke? Is Marshall signing with Seattle? What did it mean?

At 11:29, Adam Schefter confirmed in a Twitter post that indeed, Marshall had agreed to a one year deal with the ‘Hawks.

The contract, a very team-friendly deal worth a maximum of $2 million, means Marshall has no guarantee of making the 53-man roster out of training camp. It’s expected that Brandon will come in and provide a much-needed veteran presence on the outside.  At 6’5″, Marshall has the size that Pete Carroll loves to have on his roster. If Brandon can stay healthy and still has some gas in the tank, this could be a great signing for the Seahawks.
