Titans Survivor
This season Survivor is located in a known location in America. Nashville Tennessee is hosting Titans Survivor this NFL season. There are a couple players who are on the before, during and after this season. Some players on the roster this year might not make it to the season, through the season or on the 2019 roster. Currently, at tribal council, this season is outside linebacker Kevin Dodd, Safety Johnathan Cyprien, and Wide receiver Tajae Sharpe. Will all, none or some of these players make it? They have to make it through training camp and the regular season to call themselves “Survivors” for this season with the Titans.
Kevin Dodd
The biggest bubble in tribal council is Kevin Dodd. Many fans already believe is a bust for the Titans. Kevin will have an uphill battle surviving the 2018 season, this year is the make or break for him. If Dodd does not stay healthy the whole season and show significant signs of being useful then he will be gone. The 2016 2nd round draft pick at 33rd overall has played eighteen games in two seasons and managed to only put together nine tackles and one sack combined. The young outside linebacker is still on his rookie contract and is on the roster at a fairly low cost but is still being overpaid for his lack of productivity. Dodd is a huge mystery to the NFL, he is definitely facing the chopping block this year if he doesn’t show signs of life fast.
My Prediction: We do not see Dodd on the Titans roster in 2019, maybe not even 2018.
Johnathan Cyprien
Johnathan Cyprien is another player sitting at tribal council this year with the Titans. GM Jon Robinson acquired Cyprien in the offseason prior to the 2017 season. He had four decent season’s with the Jaguars prior to coming to the Titans. Cyprien managed 341 tackles, two sacks and two interceptions combined over 60 games and four seasons with the Jaguars. Cyprien only played ten games last season due to injury. During his first season with the Titans last year he had 38 tackles and one sack, hardly a productive season, but he can bounce back this year. Especially with the addition of Dane Cruikshank.
His starting position on the depth chart is in jeopardy if the rookie Cruikshank can get up to speed quickly and produce fast on the field. After learning about the Titans drafting a safety, Cyprien has posted himself constantly working out and being more vocal about his work ethic. Is he feeling pressure? of course. The GM of any sports team job is to find a younger and equally or more productive player to replace higher paid veterans on the roster at a lower cost. Look out for Cyprien to try and step up his game this year in fear of being replaced by Cruikshank.

My Prediction: Cyprien Survives tribal council 2018, but if Cruikshank gets up to speed then Cyprien with being on the hot seat at tribal council for the 2019 season.
Tajae Sharpe
The third player sitting at Titans survivor tribal council is Tajae Sharpe. A name that fans may say “I’ve heard the name before but don’t remember from where”. That is because he was not mentioned at all during the 2017 season for the Titans. Sharpe is a very young and capable wide receiver. He showed promise his rookie year then missed the entire 2017 season due to injury. In his rookie year, he played all sixteen games and was had forty-one receptions for 522 yards. Good enough to average 12.7 yards per catch and two touchdowns on the season. During his first pre-season, he re-injured his right foot during the last game before the season started. Mike Mularkey at the time placed him on injured reserve, missing the entire upcoming season. Tajae has a good chance of making this team. As I stated before he can be the X-factor on the offense.
The only thing about Sharpe’s situation is he is riding a fine line with the team. The 2018 season can either cement him on the roster as a play maker or can be the cause of him not being on the roster in 2019. If he gets injured again this season or if he does not perform well, he can find himself looking to make another team next offseason. Durability is going to be the biggest issue and something to watch this season with Sharpe. The coaching staff has a lot of faith in the current wide receiving corp including Sharpe. You can not predict injuries with players for the most part. Just like you can not predict how a young unproven player comes back from a repeat foot injury and an entire season off.
My Prediction: Tajae Sharpe earns the starting slot receiver position over Taywon Taylor to start the season and has a good season but may miss two or three games with minor injuries. We see him on the 2019 roster starting the season.
David Fluellen
The final player sitting at tribal council for the first season of Titans Survivor is David Fluellen. With unrestricted free agent Akrum Wadley likely to make the team it leaves less need for Fluellen. Wadley can make an immediate impact and get significant playing time in the 2018 season. His attributes as a running back are superior to Fluellen. Fluellen failed to get much playing time in a run-heavy offense of “exotic smashmouth” last season. The second year running back only had four attempts last year for twenty-one yards and zero touchdowns. If Akrum Wadley does not make the team then expect Fluellen to see more playing time this year.
My Prediction: Akrum Wadley makes the team and Fluellen is a roster casualty this 2018 season.
