With the 21st pick in the 2018 MLB Draft, the Milwaukee Brewers have selected Brice Turang, a shortstop from Santiago High School in Corona, California.
Turang was initially in the 1st overall pick discussion, but as the season rolled along, he fell a bit further down boards. Many were wondering if he would be taken in the first round at all, but the Brewers take him at 21.

Turang doesn’t have a ton of pop in his bat, but that’s the only knock on him. He gets on base at an incredible clip, only striking out once during his entire 2018 campaign. He’s got incredible wheels as well, and plays a really clean shortstop. The Brewers haven’t had a shortstop who could hit in a while, and the Brewers hope Turang bucks that trend.
Turang likely comes in as the third prospect in Milwaukee’s system, behind Corbin Burnes and fellow middle-infielder Keston Hiura.
