It is the dog days of the NFL summer which means it’s that time of the year to put a wrap on the NFL Network’s annual Top 100 Players of 2018 list. Not surprisingly (unless you’re an Aaron Rodgers fan), Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was voted as the top player for the second year in a row. He is the only player to appear in the Top 5 in every iteration of this list.

Brady, of course, won his third regular season MVP following the 2017 season in which he led the Patriots back to the Super Bowl. The third time in four seasons. Not too shabby for a man about to turn 41. Unfortunately, he and the Patriots fell just short of their sixth championship as they fell 41-33 to the Eagles. Brady threw for a Super Bowl record, 505 yards in the loss.

During the regular season, Brady led the league in passing yards with 4,577. He threw 32 touchdowns to just eight interceptions en route to a 13-3 record and the top seed in the AFC. His stellar play continued through the playoffs, culminating in the 505-yard performance in Super Bowl LII. Brady threw 1,132 yards, eight touchdowns, and no interceptions in three playoff games.
Rob Gronkowski was the only other Patriot voted in the Top 100. Gronk came in at number 15.
