It’s been awhile since my last Rams season prediction, heading into week 9 the Rams record is 6-2 and are leading the NFC West. In this part (part 3) I will be predicting the Rams weeks 9-13 starting off with week 9.
Week 9: @ New Orleans Saints
One of the most dominant teams in the league and a front-runner for the Super Bowl are challenged by the Saints who are also a very well rounded team. Heading into this matchup, I expect an extremely entertaining game. Drew Brees and Jared Goff with both play well, passing for multiple touchdowns each while their young running backs Todd Gurley and Alvin Kamara have above average games rushing for just over 125 yards each. On the defensive side of things, it will be a pretty standard game except with defensive linemen Ndamukong Suh and Aaron Donald combining for a total of six sacks. I predict the final score being 28-24 with the Saints barely pulling out the win with less than 90 seconds left on the clock.
Week 10: vs. Seattle Seahawks
In the first meeting of the Seahawks and Rams, the Rams snuck out of Seattle with a win of 24-20. This time in their meeting, Kam Chancellor and Russell Wilson want revenge. Wilson will pick apart the Rams few weak spots while “killer” Kam Chancellor exposes the Ram’s back up running backs and tight ends. As for the Rams stats, Jared Goff will have an average game passing for about 230 yards while running back Todd Gurley has his worst game of the year yet, totaling only about 87 yards and one touchdown. Corners Marcus Peters and Aqib Talib will have an off week and the Rams will end up falling to 6-4 by losing to the Seahawks by a score of 31-24.
Week 11: vs. Kansas City Chiefs
After losing two straight, the Rams go full speed ahead allowing Jared Goff to throw to speedy wide receiver Brandin Cooks. Those two alone accumulate 142 yards while star running back Todd Gurley runs for a total of 120 yards on the struggling Chief defense. Marcus Peters, Aqib Talib, and Lemarcus Joyner will all end up with the ball in their hands at some point either by interception or fumble recovery. Overall the Chiefs won’t be able to get much going with second-year player Patrick Mahomes as they fall victim to a fired up Rams team. The Rams get the win 38-17 with the entire team doing their part.

Week 12: Bye Week
Well uh, guess we’re on to week 13
Week 13: @ Detroit Lions
After a big scoring game in Mexico against the Chiefs, the Rams head to Detroit to take on a possible struggling Lions team. Even though I predict the Lions to be struggling, I still think that it will be a close game. With fourth-quarter comeback master Mathew Stafford on the Lions, he will lead a strong late game push but will ultimately fall short as the Ram offense will be too much for the Lion defense. Jared Goff will be able to pass to sophomore receiver Cooper Kupp for 135 yards and pass to tight end Gerald Everett for 75 yards. Running back Todd Gurley will start slow but will ultimately total for 110 yards on the ground and two of the Rams touchdowns.
On the defensive side of the ball, they will simply do their job, not great, not horrible. But in the end, they will do enough to secure the win. My final score prediction is the Rams beat the Lions 24-13. The MVP of this game is quarterback Jared Goff as he throws for a total of 270 yards and a touchdown to lead his team to an 8-4 record.
