It’s the final countdown

We are now two days away from the beginning of the Washington Redskins training camp.  In the previous mock roster, I went through and discussed why I believe the roster will be made up that way.  Not much has changed in my mind since then.  I have labeled who I believe will be the starting slot receiver and slot/nickel corner in parentheses.

As much as Jay Gruden loves Rob Kelley, he will not make the roster as either an in a camp trade or cut.  Kapri Bibbs, who is a more dynamic runner and pass catcher, will take Kelley’s spot.  Kelley is in the final year of his contract before he becomes a restricted free agent.  If you are going all in on Derrius Guice, why would you keep someone around like Kelley who will want a chance to start and have significant playing time?  This move will also allow the flexibility to have a player who can fill in for Chris Thompson should he go down for a short stint.
