Buffalo Bills receiver Kelvin Benjamin decided to give his insight on his time with the Carolina Panthers. Needless to say, Benjamin is glad he is no longer with the organization and did not hold back on former teammate Cam Newton. He made comments on how he had wished he played with a more accurate quarterback to start out his NFL career.
“If you would’ve put me with any other quarterback, let’s be real, you know what I’m saying? Any other accurate quarterback like Rodgers or Eli Manning or Big Ben — anybody! — quarterbacks with knowledge, that know how to place a ball and give you a better chance to catch the ball. It just felt like I wasn’t in that position,” Benjamin said.
Benjamin then went and commented again on the situation on Twitter:
I’m just crazy then !!! I was the one who buried my mom and skip the grievance process to get back and help that team …. let be real it’s was all fake .. and to be honest i was salty Who wouldn’t be …. I just ben holding it all in. And now I’m free. Hate me or love me ..🖐🏽

It is safe to say that Benjamin is not afraid to let the world know how he feels about his time with the Panthers. He even made a statement on how he believes he should have never been drafted to the Panthers in the first place. Benjamin had been with the Panthers since 2014. He suffered a torn ACL in 2015 and and declined in production in 2016 and 2017 before being traded to the Bills.
Head coach Sean McDermott later commented on Benjamin’s remarks, “There’s a time and a place — I’m not saying specific to what comments were made — there’s a time and place for things like that, this was not one of them.”
I agree with McDermott. With the state that the Bills are in, with their current roster and with the first preseason game coming up this Thursday in Orchard Park, NY, there should be no nonsense that has the Bills surrounded with the media with all sorts of questions. Benjamin is heading into a contract year with the team. It’s a go big or go home season for the big receiver and with these comments that he has made about Newton, this will add more pressure to him and whoever steps under center for the Bills going into this season.
The Bills host the Carolina Panthers this Thursday in Buffalo, NY for their first preseason game.
