“We do all of our homework prior to. I think that you have open and very candid conversations about what your locker room is, how your team is run, how we go about doing things and see if it fits,” head coach Hue Jackson said following practice Tuesday. “The player has to be honest, and we have to be honest with what our expectations are. You just lay it out. I think that is the only way that you can do it at this time.”
The need for another veteran wide receiver is there. Bryant has his share of issues throughout his career. General manager John Dorsey is not afraid to take a chance on a player with some baggage if there is mutual interest.
“Absolutely. It is not just a given,” Jackson said. “I think that you have to work through whatever conversations we have and feel good about it.”
Bryant could make the Browns wide receiver core tough to defend. If Josh Gordon returns and Jarvis Landry lives up to his production from his Miami Dolphins days, those best wide receiver groups in the league could be more than wishful thinking.
