Welcome to the 2018 NFL (Pre)-season Colts fans! The wait is over, and the FPC Colts team are now resuming our weekly game week articles. Here we will look into three critical stats heading into Colts matchup, which will help give a better picture of what to expect and some storylines heading into the game. This weeks matchup is the preseason game against the Baltimore Ravens in the familiar confines of Lucas Oil Stadium.

1. 25%
The Colts had a paltry 25% third down conversion rate in their first preseason outing against the Seahawks. Now preseason stats shouldn’t be taken too seriously, but you would like to see an improvement nonetheless. The starters were two for four on third down conversions with one fourth-down conversion, so it wasn’t all bad, but it can still get better.

2. Two
Andrew Luck played in two series in the first preseason game and looked great in his live action in close to 600 days. On Monday Luck is expected to play close to a full half against the Ravens which should let the offense move on from its scripted playset and start to open up. As Luck starts to knock off the rust and gets more comfortable, we should begin to see him let loose a bit more.

3. 31
The Voice of the Colts Bob Lamey has spent 31 years with the franchise and is the man behind many of the greatest moments for Indy faithful. The Colts have the greatest fans in the sport, but no one was more of a fan than Lamey. I know I speak for all of us when I say how much we loved Bob Lamey over the years and now wish him the best in retirement.
The next two games will start to reveal more of what the team is like as the starters remain in the game longer. The wins and losses in the preseason are not that important, but a good performance along with a clean bill of health for the players go a long way for regular season success.
