Baker Mayfield is a character both on and off the football field. The number one overall pick showed off some of his acting skills Tuesday in Berea.

Mayfield decided to do a spoof of his boss, Cleveland Browns general manager John Dorsey. Is there a specific reason why?

“We had our rookie show today,” Mayfield said following the final practice before Thursday’s preseason game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

The rookie quarterback went all out in his skit of Dorsey. Mayfield sported the gray sweatshirt and the tan hat with the Browns elf logo on it. Dorsey is always seen wearing that specific outfit all the time in Berea.

In addition to the sweatshirt and hat, Mayfield also wore white Nike athletic shoes with an orange swoosh logo and Cleveland Browns written in brown on the tongue.

In the video the Browns shared on their website and twitter account, Mayfield is sitting in Dorsey’s office talking like Dorsey and chewing real hard on a piece of bubble gum.

In a second video, Mayfield is shown walking down a hallway inside the Browns training facility in Berea. He is walking exactly like Dorsey does.

So what does the rookie quarterback feel about his imitation of his boss?

“I will save it for our team,” Mayfield said. “Had some good parts today.”

Browns training camp 2018 concluded Tuesday. The timing of Mayfield’s skit is certainly good. The time to plan the performance was available since he likely won’t see as much action Thursday night against the Super Bowl champions.

“He is going to play quite a bit,” head coach Hue Jackson said. “I want him to play. He is going to play. That is for sure.”

Starting quarterback Tyrod Taylor will see the most action Thursday night.
