The Cleveland Browns faced a tough loss on Sunday afternoon after going up against the New Orleans Saints.

Browns kicker Zane Gonzalez missed two PATs along with two field goals. One of the missed field goals came during the final seconds of the game on a 52-yard try. The attempt had the distance but was wide right.

However, Saints kicker Will Lutz had himself a day after successfully making a 44-yard field goal with just 21 seconds remaining in the game.

The Saints went on to defeat the Browns 21-18, which ultimately extends the Browns’ losing streak to 19 games.

For the Browns, the tension during the final seconds of the game felt very similar. Last weekend against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Gonzalez went a perfect 3-for-3 on extra points but the lone 43-yard field goal in overtime was blocked by Steelers linebacker TJ Watt.

Heading into the fourth quarter, the Browns’ were leading the Saints 12-3 before Michael Thomas hauled in a pair of touchdowns.

Trailing with 1:16 remaining in the game, Tyrod Taylor took the snap and saw Antonio Callaway deep downfield. Taylor executed a beautiful pass throwing it ahead of Callaway to create space. Callaway reached out and hauled in the 47-yard reception which ended up tying the game at 18.

The Browns defense managed to hold running back Alvin Kamara to just 46 yards on 13 carries throughout the game. However, during the final minutes of the game, the defense allowed Drew Brees to connect with a wide-open Ted Ginn Jr. on a 42-yard completion that gave Lutz excellent position for the go-ahead field goal.

The Browns defense still looks highly impressive within the turnovers forced category. After forcing six turnovers last weekend against the Steelers, the Browns managed to recover two more fumbles against the Saints.
