On Sunday the Bears will be playing the 27th ranked passing defense and the 25th ranked scoring defense. Here are my 5 things to watch against the Cardinals this coming Sunday.
The offense has to pick it up
The Bears have shown the ability to score on the opening drive in the first two games but after that look like a completely different team. The offense has to play a complete game to show improvements. Let’s hope Nagy opens the playbook up for Trubisky a little more.
The Defense has to assert itself
The defense has to keep their foot on the pedal. All games start 0-0 and the defense has to realize it doesn’t matter if they’re a lesser opponent. They have to keep pushing for perfection. Don’t give an inch to this offense. Put every NFL team on notice. That it doesn’t matter who they face, they’re crushing everyone.
Nagy has to get Jordan Howard going
This is my biggest thing to watch. How do you take pressure off a young quarterback? You feed a star running back. Howard has only run 29 times the 1st two games and it’s almost made the Bears one dimensional. Set Howard free. The Cardinals run defense is ranked 28th. Look and hope for Nagy to exploit that and get the backfield going.

Fuller has to be better
Fuller was paid the big buck during the offseason. Now he needs to prove he’s worth it. Although he hasn’t been awful in coverage, he dropped a would-be game-sealing interception against the Packers and hasn’t been able to turn his head around in coverage. Fuller has to show he was worth the Bears investment and I fully believe he’ll do that the next few games.
Finish the game strong
This to me is very important. I hate when defenses give up touchdowns, even garbage touchdowns. I want a complete game from this defense. I want to see turnovers, sacks, and tackles for a loss from them but most importantly I want them to not give up garbage time touchdowns.
Sunday is just days away. Hopefully winning becomes an addiction for this team and they show improvements every week. But above all else winning is everything.
