The Colts had an extremely impressive week two win in Washington where they held the Redskins to only nine points, the final score being 21-9. Star rookie linebacker Darius Leonard, who won rookie of the week and AFC DPOW, led the Colts’ defensive unit with 19 total tackles and a slew of other great plays for the Colts.

Multiple Colts’ starters have been ruled out, like tight end Jack Doyle, Anthony Castanzo, Denico Autry, and Marlon Mack. Without those starters players like Eric Ebron, Joe Haeg, Denzelle Good, Jordan Wilkins, and Margus Hunt will all be put in the spotlight against reigning Super Bowl champions the Philadelphia Eagles. Luckily, the Colts are not the only ones hurting because of injuries.

Running back Jay Ajayi, Darren Sproles, Corey Clement, Jason Peters, and Alshon Jeffery are either out or doubtful to play which puts the focus towards the Colts’ linebackers to make sure none of the Eagles’ back up running backs have anywhere near a good day. That all being said, summarizing, watch the Colts’ back up tackles, young linebackers, Eric Ebron, Jordan Wilkins, and Margus Hunt. I know it is a lot for just the first thing to watch but trust me, there is a lot to watch this week end.

Carson Wentz makes his 2018 season debut against a Colts team coming off of a great team win in Washington. Rust is something that took effect on all NFL teams especially the Colts and Andrew Luck. Containing one of the most mobile and agile quarterbacks in the league is a huge thing to watch as it will pave the road when playing two division rivals Marcus Mariota and DeShaun Watson that the Colts play twice each. Securing the edge, bringing the pressure, and getting Wentz down and not letting him escape like the escape artist he has shown to be when the pocket collapses will be key. Once again, look for rookie Darius Leonard to step up and be the guy to shut Wentz down. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Anthony Walker or Skai Moore take the lead on containing Carson Wentz through out the day.

After the Colts rose to 1-1 in Washington and the Eagles fell to 1-1, confidence is a huge thing to watch in Philadelphia. Head coach Frank Reich was ecstatic after the win last week but in order to walk away with the win this week, Reich needs to keep a calm and collected state of mind especially without multiple key starters and playing in the home of the defending Super Bowl champions. Even though the Eagles are coming off a loss, having Carson Wentz make his season debut this week does the world for the Eagles’ locker room. This is a make or break it week in some ways as if the Colts can take down a power house team like the Eagles, this can show that they can compete against top teams in the NFL.
