Preseason Recap
The Minnesota Wild finished the preseason with a record of 2-4-1, with both victories coming in games where they used most of their final 23-man roster. The Wild open their regular season on Thursday night against the Colorado Avalanche in Denver. Their home opener is Saturday night against the Western Conference Champion Vegas Golden Knights
Roster Decisions
Back-up Goalie
The Wild will start the season once again with Alex Stalock as their backup. While neither backup contender was outstanding, Stalock bested Andrew Hammond based on his puck-handling abilities.
Defense
The Wild kept seven defense men on their final roster. Wild veteran Nate Prosser won the battle for the last spot. He provides depth for an improved defense core going into the 2018-2019 campaign.
Forwards
New additions Matt Hendricks (cover photo), Eric Fehr , and J.T. Brown will give the Wild a more physical presence with an already established group of veteran forwards.
