Titans at Bills
Where: New Era Field
When: 1:00 PM ET
How to Watch: CBS
Coming into this matchup, the Titans need to be careful. They are entering the game as 3.5 point favorites, but are also coming off of an emotional victory. It can be tough to rally after such an emotional win, so the Titans need to make sure they take the Bills seriously. We don’t want to end up like the Minnesota Vikings did.
Areas of Interest
There are a couple of things we can expect going into this game. One of the most important things is that this Bills offensive line is just simply not good. That bodes well for a Titans defensive front that is off to a hot start to begin the year. Josh Allen has already been sacked 18 times in his young NFL career, that number will increase this weekend. Harold Landry is coming off a monster game, I expect that train to continue rolling. Look out Josh Allen
Another thing to look out for is a hangover. After such an emotional win, the Titans may come out a little flat. However, riding a 3 game win streak and being one of the hottest teams in the NFL gives them the clear advantage. Marcus Mariota is coming off of arguably the most impressive performance of his career. Corey Davis is finally showing his potential, and I mean, the Bills had a player retire at halftime. Is your own player quitting at halftime worse than Mark Sanchez’s butt fumble? I wonder what the FPC Jets think?
My third area of interest is going to be Tennessee’s passing game. Other than the revival shown playing Philly, the Titans offense has been somewhat stagnant. The Bills have a middle of the pack secondary that the Titans can take advantage of. Expect Mariota to have some deep shots available in this one. The one thing that is keeping this Titans team from being a real contender is their running game. If they can figure out what’s going on with the run, they’ll take the next step. Buffalo doesn’t have an awful rush defense. They give up around 98 yards a game, with is in the upper echelon of the NFL. This is the game the Titans put together the pieces and finally emerge as a real contender in the AFC.
I think the Titans will win this one pretty easily, I just don’t think the score will portray that. Titans go up big to start the game, and coast to the finish line.
