The Atlanta Falcons go on the road to face the drama filled Pittsburgh Steelers this week. The defense catches a break this week as Le’veon Bell will remain inactive for this game. The Offense has to come out fast and give the defense a big lead to play with. These two teams are meeting in a practically a must-win situation for both teams. Both these teams rank near the bottom of the league on defense, so the Falcons shouldn’t have any problems moving the ball today. Devonta Freeman will be active for this game meaning the offense gets another playmaker back.
Atlanta will win 34-28 and I will tell you how!
Matt Ryan is playing at an MVP level, and that should continue versus the Steelers. Pittsburgh is ranked 30th in the league in total defense, this is not your typical steel curtain defense. They are giving up chunk play’s through the air and on the ground. Matt Ryan is in the top-10 in the National Football League in yards with 1,316 yards, and in the top 10 in touchdowns with 10. Ryan should have a field day today versus the Steelers. Joe Flacco just torched Pittsburgh, throwing for over 350 yards against them. Joe Flacco is good but he’s not known for going over 300 yards.
Matt Ryan has been sharp throwing to Jones only when he’s open. Last week Matt Ryan failed to connect with Julio Jones in the end zone but this week that will change. Austin Hooper will be a huge safety relief in this game. Hooper had only one reception last week but look for him to be more involved in the offense. Matt Ryan will continue to lead this team, and going over 300 yards is becoming the norm. If the Falcons want to win, and save their season Matt Ryan and the offense have to put up 30+ points once again.
This guy is special, but you already knew that. Jones is fresh off a 9-for-170 yard game versus the Bengals. He leads the National Football League in receiving yards. He has 502 so far, and honestly he could have so many more. Jones has not found the end zone, but he has picked up so many critical third downs this season. He is a third down monster! Julio gets the team down to the goal line and the rookie Calvin Ridley finishes the drive off with touchdowns. Julio Jones is a team guy so he’s happy with Ridley getting into the end zone. Teams are doubling Julio which is opening up one on one opportunities for Ridley, and so far he’s winning his one on one battles.
Julio will be matched up with Joe Haden who is a solid corner, but is susceptible to get beat a few times throughout the game. Julio will get into the end zone this game. It is crazy to think a guy with the talent of Jones has three touchdowns in two years and counting. Teams are not letting Jones get in the end zone, so to counter that Matt Ryan is finding the other matchups. Another huge game from Julio Jones today, 100+ yards and 2 touchdowns!
The Atlanta Falcons offense is back. The offense is moving the ball with so little effort. Seems like everything Coach Sarkisian calls is working. The defense got hit with the injury bug this season. So the season rests all on the arm of Matt Ryan. Can he lead this team to the playoffs with all these injuries? I think he can, and it starts today, Falcons in a close game 34-28
