Over the past few days, everyone was under the impression that the Washington Redskins would not make a trade and most thought if they did they would go after a wide receiver. Well, it happened. The Skins made a trade for Packers safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix and in return, Washington sent a fourth-rounder to Green Bay.
Fans Weigh In:
he’s only 25!! love this move and this new duo at Safety will be tested right away vs Falcons
— Subir (@PlzWinDC) October 31, 2018
I’m excited about it. Great duo with him and DJ and also provides much needed depth at the position. DJ is excited about it so that’s all I need to know as a fan. Looking forward to even more energy.

It’s the type of trade the used to overspend for and/or isn’t a good culture fit. @haha_cd6 seems to laugh in the face at both of those stereotypes. Stoked to have him.
— Joe Pope (@popejf) October 31, 2018
Great move. Gives us more versatility with potential for more big nickel/big dime looks. Definitely can be an upgrade over Montae and we will get half season look to see if that is a defensive backfield we want for the long haul
— Mike Rowan (@MRowan47) October 31, 2018
Josh Norman may be the least good player in the back 4 now – that’s frightening (appropriately for Halloween).
— Aieeeeain Murray (@ismurray) October 31, 2018
As a cowboys fan, him and swearinger will be nice, the defense scares me even more. Very versatile
— Bryson Rupe (@bsrupe2) October 31, 2018
I always think the redskins should trade draft picks for established players because they are so awful at drafting they just waste most of their picks lol
— Tinoladobo (@Tinoladobo) October 31, 2018
I’m wondering how long it takes him to get accustomed to our system. I know he will get a ton of help from the other guys in the secondary, but will the chemistry click right away? Hopefully mistakes are limited while he’s getting in sync. Overall I’m excited to have him.

Awesome trade
— Scott N Rocanne (@rocandscott) October 31, 2018
Great pick up and an excellent compliment to DJ Swearinger in the secondary
— K Riv (@bham_nole) October 31, 2018
Great. Now have a very versatile backend to disguise more looks. Plus if he walks we get compensatory pick. No brainer…
— Jack Sparrow (@CDfromVA) October 31, 2018
Great move, I don’t see a true weakness on this defense. Run D, Pass rush and Pass coverage. What a difference a year makes.
— Thrilla in Manella (@ManellaSteve) October 31, 2018
Even if just for a year, this defense is loaded and finally built to compete in a rugged division from top to bottom. I love the signing 💯 https://t.co/yYFYIOUKXF

Imagine if we can sign him long term, a legit defense is being built and this would be amazing

@haha_cd6 is going to be awesome for this team! Loves god, S Taylor, things happen for a reason. I said it before and I’ll say it again something special is happening with the Redskins! I can’t wait for Sunday!! #HTTR thank you Doug Williams and rest of FO! Hail!
— Rockville Skins (@TRSkinsfan22) October 31, 2018
Love the move. Didn’t come at a great cost. Could see compensatory pick in 2020. Love that it came close to the deadline. Strengthening an already strong defense. The organization is saying they believe in their 5-2 record. So should we! #HTTR
— Von Harrison (@HammrVonHarrisn) October 31, 2018
For years the #Redskins have as an org. Tried to commit to the offense. All coaches offensive minds, worrying bout QBs . Feels like this move bolsters Defense is a change! I think a chance to have continuety and be good for a while… although is going vs the #NFL trends #HTTR
— Redskins Pow-wow (@RedskinsPowwow) October 31, 2018
You have to take any oppurtunity that you can to improve your football team. The Redskins did just that with this move.
— Will (@_willjeffrey) October 31, 2018
I love it and think that it is a very positive move! Our defense was already dominate and now adding HaHa Clinton Dix just ups the domination factor!
— Dave Warren Redford (@dwredford89) October 31, 2018
I love it it makes the defense more versatile and deadly him and DJ next to each other and maybe put montae where JHC plays 🤷🏼♂️
— 5-2 (@DanielHunterPi1) October 31, 2018
Good move. As a Packers fan we get a 4th round draft pick, which we would have gotten had he went to free agency anyways (comp pick in 2020). He’s a guy highly rated nationally but mixed reviews from Packers “universe”. He has problems tackling and looks lost in coverage at times
— Andrew Rhodes (@A_Rhodes77) October 31, 2018
Ha Ha can go back to FS, where he is better. DJ only has to worry about SS, where he is better. Montae can actually learn instead being thrown to the wolves. Not to mention HaHa is young, from ‘Bama, and could net the Skins a comp pick if he decides to leave in FA. Win! #HTTR

I think it’s spot on.. Defense Winz Championships 🙏🤠
— Ravito$$ (@maga_Knowyrslf3) October 31, 2018
If the @Redskins defense was already excellent, now it’s much better, but now Smith needs, no!!!, is an obligation that demonstrates that if he is an elite player
— Armando Flores (@armandoflores16) October 31, 2018
When you build your defense wisely through the draft and specific free agents, this kind of move makes sense. It was a great move that doesn’t tie them up beyond 2018.

To everyone who replied and/or interacted thank you. It is hard to get everyone’s replies in but on this one, I think most of everyone got included.
