Heading into Seattle, the Chargers had yet to beat a team over .500. However, if they were able to walk away from one of the league’s loudest fanbases with their fifth straight win, there would be a general consensus they’re the real deal. And that’s exactly what they did. It may have not been pretty at times, but a win is a win.
Impact Players
Philip Rivers – Making his 200th career start, Philip Rivers once again proved just how valuable he is with not only throwing the ball but managing the clock. In this game, Rivers threw for 228 yards, two touchdowns, and once again, zero interceptions. Although the yards and touchdowns don’t jump out to you, it’s Rivers ability to hold on the ball and make very few mistakes that has separated him from the rest this season. Also, Rivers’ touchdowns were both great throws, especially the one that occurred mid-way through the first quarter to wideout, Tyrell Williams.

Desmond King
Other than the first drive of the game, in which the Chargers defense couldn’t get a stop, they played very well. And their biggest contribution came when Desmond King jumped a Russell Wilson throw and took it for a touchdown. Not only was that the Chargers last score of the game, it eventually forced the Seahawks to waste all three of their timeouts in an attempt to get the ball back. And although it almost worked, the Chargers defense once again held strong at the goal line.

Kicking
Caleb Sturgis – By the time this article is up, I’m not even sure if Caleb Sturgis will still be a Charger. Throughout this game, Sturgis left five points on the board (two extra points, one field goal). It was a shocker to many Chargers fans that Sturgis remained on the team heading into this game considering his replacement, Michael Badgley, did so well during Sturgis’ absence. But after this performance, there will be riots on the streets if Sturgis remains the starting kicker.
