What a difference a week makes, huh. The Falcons came back from the bye week rolling on all cylinders as they routed the Washington Redskins 38-14 on the road. The team showed the promise it did during the start of the season by not just showing up defensively but by completely shutting down the Washington offense and a red hot Adrian Peterson. The offense continued to do its thing and get this: the best wide recevier in the league finally scored a touchdown. All in all, it was a great game.

New Defense, Who Dis?

We must of stolen the Rams defense during the night or something because what we saw was a completely different defense. The pass rush channeled 2017 levels of greatness and the secondary looked like they weren’t missing Ricardo Allen at all. The progression of Demontae Kazee has been exciting to watch as it seems every week he just keeps getting better. Better yet, with Deion Jones coming back really soon this defense will only get better. It wont be as good with all the starters in, of course, but it’s definitely a passable defense for a team with one of the best offensive shows in the league.

It’s About Damn Time

We’ve been waiting countless weeks for this to happen. We all knew it would come but that didn’t mean we wouldn’t celebrate like a bunch of kids at a Chuck E. Cheese party. With about 3:56 left in the game, on 3rd and 2 Matt Ryan throws a screen pass to Jones who had just put Josh Norman in a spin cycle(Note: later in the play, Norman got decked by Jake Matthews) and starts sprinting towards the end zone. Only thing that could stop him now was newly acquired safety HaHa Clinton-Dix. Falcons fans collectively held a gasp as it seemed like Dix was going to bring down Julio short on the goal line. However, Jones fought him off and barreled his way into the end zone for his first touchdown of the year.

What followed afterwards was complete jubilation and a sigh of relief from the Falcons fan base as Jones finally got his first touchdown of the season.

Final Falcons Word

The Falcons travel up to Cleveland to take on the lowly Browns who’s promising season has been shot to crap. With the way this defense is playing, this team stands a great chance because this offense can get into a shootout with anyone in the league. A few weeks ago, the season looked done and over with but now the Falcons are one of the hottest teams in the league and have a great shot at the playoffs. Everything is coming up Milhouse for this team.

I hope you enjoyed this week’s article and always remember to RISE UP!
