Second round pick Nick Chubb, the running back out of Georgia, takes home the honors for a second time. Chubb’s league best 176 yards rushing and two total touchdowns is enough to beat out teammate Baker Mayfield and three other 2018 rookies.

Cleveland rookies have won the rookie of the week award seven times in the first ten weeks of the season. Chubb won in weeks four and ten. Mayfield has taken home the honor three times, weeks three, seven and nine. Denzel Ward has won the award twice, weeks one and five. The honors is something general manager John Dorsey should be proud of. However, there is still plenty of work to do in rebuilding the franchise.
“They have played well, but I think that every draft is measured,” Dorsey said. “I have always said to give yourself three years and let’s measure the draft then. That is how I have always looked at it. If you ask each one of those recipients of the Rookie of the Week Award as you say, they will say, you know what? They have a lot more football to be developed and learned and they can be that much better. They are rookies still.”
The Browns are currently on their bye week. They return to action in week 12 for round one in the ‘Battle of Ohio’ against the Cincinnati Bengals and former head coach Hue Jackson in Cincinnati.
