The Patriots are coming off the bye week and will face an AFC East rival in the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium. The bye week was indeed at the right time for players that were on the injury report including some notable players.
Quarterback Tom Brady appeared on the injury report during the week. Reports were that Brady suffered a knee injury and suffered the injury during the game against the Tennessee Titans. Also, Tom Brady is dealing with an illness that he also appeared to get during the past week. Brady threw for 254 yards in the loss to the Titans with no touchdown passes, in fact Brady has only seventeen touchdown passes this entire season. He is listed as questionable, but is expected to play on Sunday against the Jets.
Tight end Rob Gronkowski is expected to play as well after missing the last two games. Gronkowski has only one touchdown catch and has 29 receptions for 448 yards. This is a much-needed upgrade for the Patriots offense because the pro bowl tight end is so big and physical and will allow other receivers to get open. Quarterback Tom Brady and Offensive Coordinator Josh McDaniels will use Gronkowksi in the seam which is so effective to move the football down the field.
Other injuries to watch are running back Sony Michel who is dealing with a calf injury. Michel has been a great and effective option at the run game. He is questionable for Sunday’s matchup. Tight end Dwayne Allen is only patriot who did not practice at all this week. He is dealing with a knee injury that he suffered against the Titans, he is inactive for the game on Sunday
