Cleveland Browns are on a winning streak and it feels so good. Hopefully the success of them has brought you success, and you can give your opponents the cold shoulder like Baker did Hue. We have reached the end of most leagues regular season at this point we all know what we need to do to make it to the fantasy playoffs next week. This will be a huge matchup in fantasy this week as the Browns will be playing a good defense. I would usually say start your studs and don’t think about the matchups but that may not apply here in one of the most crucial matchups in fantasy.
Quarterback: Baker Mayfield – Start
Baker is still an easy start as he will likely be a top option again this week. Houston has been a top 12 defense against the pass and run all year. However, Baker has shown consistently his ability to move around in the pocket and extend plays to make big plays. He’ll do enough to win you and the Browns the game this weekend.
Running backs: Nick Chubb – Start, Duke Johnson Jr. – Sit
Chubb will be playing one of the best defensive fronts he’s had to play since being a starter this weekend. It likely won’t mean much though. Cleveland should be able to put up points and when they get in the red zone he will be used. Add in the fact he is now getting more balls thrown to him, and had a beautiful catch for a touchdown last week. Chubb has become the guy for Cleveland and your fantasy team.
Johnson has to go back to the bench for me. After two great weeks he has gone back to not being used. I personally can’t trust him going forward.
Wide receivers: Jarvis Landry – Sit, Antonio Callaway – Start, Rashard Higgins – Sit, Breshad Perriman – Sit
Landry has to move to the bench. I have been advocating him based on his talent and continuing to think he’ll turn it around. With Miami, Landry was forced the ball and the volume returned a lot of his fantasy value. In Cleveland, Baker hasn’t been forcing the ball to anyone. In fact he’s been throwing to the open receiver and that hasn’t been Landry.
Callaway much like last week is an upside play for me this week. He likely will be more of a flex starter but has high upside especially with him being able to score any time he touches the ball.
Higgins has a chance to be a worthy start this week. He has been good out of the slot most of the year. However, it would have to be based purely on upside.
Tight end: David Njoku – Start
He scored one of the most unique touchdowns I have ever seen and will continue to be the focal point in a good offense at a weak position in fantasy football.
Cleveland Browns Defense – Start
While the Texans have a good offense the Cleveland Browns have continued to create turnovers and will likely continue to do so. Watson might be able to score at times but this defense has put up decent points in fantasy in 8 out of 12 weeks and are averaging 8 points a week.
