So for some reason, I am just learning that Bogdan and Bojan Bogdanović have no relation. That now makes the matchup all the more important. Because I’m not sure about you guys, but I only have room to love one Bogdanović. And what better way to fight more my love than a 1v1 matchup in early December? So let’s take a look at how both performed on in their roles and which one I will choose to support for the foreseeable future.
In Saturday night’s matchup versus the Sacramento Kings, Bojan Bogdanovic finished the contest with 27 points and three rebounds on 52% shooting from the field. Obviously, these are some great looking stats, especially for a player that normally doesn’t get much recognition. However, Bojan also recorded zero assists, three turnovers, and shot 33% from three in his 37 minutes. Ideally, my Bogdanović would be a bit more of a playmaker with the ability to be featured in some highlight type plays. Nevertheless, Bojan certainly played great and could have been the hero of the game had his last-second jumper not rimmed out. That is another knock on Bojan, he seems to lack a certain “luckiness” I’m looking for.
While Bojan Bogdanović was doing his thing, on the other side of the court sat Bogdan Bogdanović. In his 31 minutes, Bogdan scored 20 points and had six assists on 58% shooting off the bench. Incredibly efficient stats, Bogdan did the most with his opportunities when he was on the court. However, I was a bit concerned with Bogan’s eyes when he attempted to throw an alley-oop to Kosta Koufos. I’m pretty sure he thought it was Willie Cauley-Stein. He might need to get his eyes checked. But other than that, Bogdan played great and is a maestro in the pick and roll.

After careful consideration, I have decided to continue my Bogdanović career with… Bogdan Bogdanović. Honestly, my choice was pretty simple. Bogdan is three years younger and seems to have a more complete game. They are both very solid shooters but Bogdan is a much better ball handler and playmaker. Bojan’s lack of luck is also very concerning to me. And I also attempted to take looks into my consideration. But Bogdan kind of looks like a prick and Bojan looks like a knock-off Joe Ingles who is much sadder. At the end of the day, Bogdan is the better all-around basketball player and I expect him to continue to perform as such. I apologize to any die-hard Bojan supporters.
