With every team losing that the Redskins need to lose, they now sit in the driver seat in regards to their playoff chances — that is if they win on Monday night against the Eagles.
The Ravens defeated the Falcons, LA Rams knocked off the Lions while Arizona, Tampa Bay and Giants pulled off upsets over their opponents. New England went on to defeat the Vikings on Sunday night. The only thing that did not favor Washington was that Seattle defeated the 49ers.
Need to win:
Washington needs to win on Sunday in order to keep their playoff hopes alive, but, they need to win on Monday night so that they can improve to 7-5 on the season and would have them sitting at 3-1 in the division and 7-3 in the conference.

Dallas, who is currently first, is sitting 7-5 with a 3-1 record in the division and 6-3 in the conference. As for the Eagles, they are 5-6 with a 2-1 division record but they sit two games under .500 in the conference with a 3-5 record.
With Philly, Dallas and Washington being so close in the NFC East race, it may possible that two teams out of the division get a playoff birth. The current seeding has the Dallas as a fourth seed while Washington is hanging on by a thread with the sixth seed as the last team in.
The Eagles are currently sitting as the ninth seed in the playoff race, they are in the hunt but a loss to Washington on Monday night may put the nail in their coffin as Tampa Bay would likely jump them from the 10th seed.
Tampa Bay earned their fifth win of the season after forcing Cam Newton to throw four interceptions as the Carolina Panthers have now lost four straight games falling to 6-6 on the season.
So, if Monday night a big game? Of course.
