Well Bucs fans, It’s happening. According to Ian Rapoport, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are finalizing a deal to make Arians the new head coach. The move has been rumored for a few days. Not a surprise considering Arians connection with Jason Licht from his Arizona Cardinal days. According to Rapoport, Arians hope to bring in Harold Goodwin as the run game coordinator. In the passing game, Byron Leftwich and Clyde Christensen will work as passing game coordinator and quarterbacks coach respectively.
Christensen comes back to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 1996 to 2001, but was most recently with the Dolphins as director of player development. Leftwich was most recently in Arizona under Steve Wilks. Harold Goodwin was with the Cardinals until 2017.
While the hire is extremely exciting, I think most of us want to see it manifest itself of the field. Splash hires are great, but can we get some wins? Arians brings a no nonsense attitude to the Buccaneers. His history with quarterbacks is also phenomenal. Hopefully, he can get the best out of Jameis Winston.
