The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will play the home team in London, playing host to the Carolina Panthers during the 2019 season.

As reported by Jenna Laine, sources within the Tampa Bay Buccaneers organization stated that the conditions of hosting the Super Bowl in 2021 would be to host a home game internationally. The Bucs will be the host site for the 2021 Super Bowl at Raymond James Stadium. This has all been a part of the NFL’s growing International Campaign.

The site of the game has yet to be determined. It will either be at Wembley Stadium or Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. This information will be released in the coming months as the new league year approaches.

Last season’s international games took place between weeks six through eight, potentially giving Tampa a bi-week right at the halfway point of the 2019 season.

Tampa Bay has played in three games outside of the United States, all taking place in London. Their most recent matchup overseas was against the Chicago Bears, losing 24-18 all while running back Matt Forte had a 145 rushing yards with one touchdown type of day. Bucs quarterback Josh Freeman had a four-interception day while only completing 56.8% of his passes.

This will mark the first time Tampa has played a divisional oppenet internationally as stated by Buccaneers.com Senior Witer and Editor, Scott Smith. Consequentially, this will be Carolina’s first international appearence.

Four total games will be played in London in 2019 and one stand alone game played in Mexico City. The agreement to play a game in Mexico City started in 2016 with plans to keep a game there for the next several years.

Season ticket holders will see a reflection in their season ticket pricing, per source, as we get closer to the start of the new league year. Tampa will play seven home games in 2019, nine including preseason.
