Arm Talent: Limited arm talent. Has a really nice touch on his passes, often times lacks the necessary zip. Struggles to throw across the field. Sweet spot appears to be deep in the middle of the field. 15/20.

Accuracy: Accurate at times, misses at others. Very inconsistent in the short to intermediate routes. Tends to hit the deep ball. Will miss wide open receivers. 12/18.

Field Vision: Seems to see the field very well. Relies too much on pre snap reads, wasn’t asked to go through progressions often. Will try to force the ball sometimes, based on his pre snap read. 11/15.

Release: Quick release. Nice form and mechanics when throwing the ball. Plant and windup moves simultaneously. Ball comes out at a good point. 13/15.

Pocket Movement: Moves in the pocket well. Struggles under pressure. Has a decent ability to extend plays. 10/12.

Mobility: Fairly mobile QB. Used rarely in QB runs. Scrambles safely and protects his body from unnecessary hits. 8/10.

Leadership: Not certain that he is the leader. Might rely on other players around him. 6/10.

Overall: Rypien has a lot of potential to be a good NFL starter. Although Boise State’s track record of producing NFL type QB’s isn’t good, Rypien can certainly be the face to change that. If he gets a chance to sit for a year or two and learn, Rypien could find himself having a fine NFL career. 75/100.
