WT- 186 lbs
Recruit- 3 Star
NFL Comp- Danny Amendola
Games Scouted- @ Mississippi State (2017), @ Boston College (2018), @ Georgia (2018).
Injury History- None (+1).
Catching: Tends to attack the football instead of just letting it come in, that makes him have hard hands. Regardless, he still has some incredible hands. Makes really good catches and still makes them through contact and in traffic. 21/28.
Route Running: Incredible route runner. While routes can get slightly crisper, Isabella’s footwork is phenomenal. Ran a complex tree at UMass, which helped incredibly against stiffer competition. 16/18.
Size/Speed: While he’s quite small, Isabella has incredible quickness, flat-line speed and impressive athleticism. Isabella has Wes Welker type quickness and might run a 4.3 forty. 12/18.
Physicality: Not very physical on account of his size. Does well to battle for footballs in traffic, but doesn’t handle press coverage the best. Because of his quickness, though, opposing teams generally played well off of the LOS. 6/12.
Body Control/Balance: Good body control and excellent balance. Has a variety of moves after the catch (and before in his route running) that allow him to create space and make big plays. Will absorb hits when not wrapped up. 9/10.
Run Blocking: Tries to run block. Doesn’t have the form or the strength to be very effective. Has the will, so with a little technique training, Isabella could be a decent run blocker. ⅜.
Leadership/Attitude: Good leadership and never takes a play off. Impressive in that regard. Always going full out, with that chip on his shoulder. Extremely impressive. 6/6.
Overall: Andy Isabella has good potential in the league. He can contribute on special teams right away to a team and provide reliable receiver help immediately. 73/100.
Honest kid, still very nervous with the media, but seems fine and won’t be a problem in any locker rooms. (+3).
