Another trade was just announced and it appears the Los Angeles Kings will be sending forward Carl Hagelin to the Washington Capitols in exchange for two draft picks.
This will be the third team Hagelin will suit up for this season. He started the year with the Pittsburgh Penguins and they traded him to the L.A. Kings in mid-November.
Hagelin has played 38 games this season with Pittsburgh and L.A. In those games he has 2 goals and 6 assists.
Many had speculated the Capitals were ready to make a deal after they had put Devante Smith-Pelly on waivers. Hagelin has a $1.875 million cap hit for the season before he hits free agency this upcoming offseason.
The addition of Hagelin is more of a depth trade, as he will play the majority of his time in a bottom 6 role.
As for the Kings, in exchange for Hagelin, they will receive a third-round pick in the 2019 NHL draft and a conditional sixth-round pick in the 2020 NHL Draft.
