Blockbuster Deal: Cleveland Browns Trade For WR Odell Beckham

The Cleveland Browns have sent shock waves around the NFL. Wide receiver Odell Beckham has been acquired from the New York Giants.

General manager John Dorsey makes a giant splash on the eve of the official start of free agency.

In return, New York receives the Browns first round selection in next months NFL Draft. In addition, Cleveland sends the Giants their second third round pick and safety Jabrill Peppers.

Cleveland and the Giants have completed their second trade in a span of a week. The Browns and Giants swapped offensive guard Kevin Zeitler for pass rushing linebacker Olivier Vernon.

Beckham signed a 5-year $90 million contract in 2018. Beckham will cost the Browns $17 million in cap space.

The Browns offense will be one to watch under first year head coach Freddie Kitchens. In addition to Beckham, Cleveland added running back Kareem Hunt to go along with Baker Mayfield, Nick Chubb and Jarvis Landry.

The Beckham addition should make the Browns the preseason favorites to win the AFC North in 2019.
