The reports, the tape study, the analysis, all of it comes to a head tonight when the Arizona Cardinals officially go on the clock. In preparation, Full Press Coverage editors Ryan Adverderada, Sam Smith and Terrance Biggs made their picks for how the draft should play out if they were in charge of each franchise.
Without further ado, we present the 2019 FPC NFL Mock Draft.
1. Arizona Cardinals – QB Kyler Murray, Oklahoma
Kliff Kingsbury wants his guy. General Manager Steve Keim would be stupid to ignore his new coach. At the very least, this builds excitement for the franchise and fanbase. Sorry, Josh Rosen, you got dealt a bad hand. – Ryan Adverderada
2. San Francisco 49ers – Edge Nick Bosa, Ohio State
The general consensus is Bosa is the top player in the class. No need to fool around. Pairing Bosa with DeForest Buckner and a group of talented young linemen makes the 49ers look like a serious long-term threat up front. – Sam Smith
3. New York Jets – DT Quinnen Williams, Alabama
Whether securing the edge with Josh Allen or fortifying the middle with Williams, the Jets are in good position to add a potentially dominant piece to their defense. Williams looks like as sure a thing as there is in this class as a disruptive, unblockable force up the middle. – Smith
4. Oakland Raiders – LB Devin White, LSU
With three first-rounders, the team needs to start attacking problem areas. With a dearth of play making at linebacker, White slides in. Blessed with instincts and elite athleticism, he will operate at outside linebacker while Vontaze Burfict plays a year or two in the middle. – Terrance Biggs
5. Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Edge Josh Allen, Kentucky
Tampa has the offensive weapons and the head coach to make some noise in the NFC South. The defense lost linebacker Kwon Alexander during free agency but also need some help rushing the passer. Josh Allen has the versatility to play off-ball linebacker while also coming off the edge in the pass rush. – Adverderada
6. New York Giants – QB Dwayne Haskins, Ohio State
Reports are that the Giants are highest on Daniel Jones of the remaining quarterbacks, but for my money, Haskins is the safer bet. He has a big arm, good coverage awareness for his limited experience and enough pocket sense to make up for his lack of mobility. The time is now to establish the post-Eli era. – Smith
7. Jacksonville Jaguars – WR D.K. Metcalf, Mississippi
In 2017, the Jaguars broke the bank to shore up the defense. Now they need to inject talent into the offense. Metcalf’s strengths and linear burst gives Nick Foles a threat from week one. – Biggs
8. Detroit Lions – CB Greedy Williams, LSU
Williams is widely regarded as the best corner in the draft. He is another talented LSU secondary player who would be the perfect bookend to Darius Slay. Williams could likely start as the top corner for most NFL teams. Detroit gets to use him as their CB2. – Adverderada
9. Buffalo Bills – DT Ed Oliver, Houston
Despite boasting a competent front four, the Bills cannot pass up Oliver. The former Houston standout brings speed, disruption and and knack for sniffing out the ball carrier. – Biggs
10. Denver Broncos – TE T.J. Hockenson, Iowa
One of the best ways to help out a high-priced average quarterback is to give him a reliable target for the middle of the field. Hockenson is the total package at tight end, able to run a full route tree, get separation at any level, work high balls in the red zone and block in the run game. – Smith
11. Cincinnati Bengals – OT Jawaan Taylor, Florida
While Cordy Glenn locks down the left tackle spot, the Bengals needed help on the other side. Currently, Bobby Hart serves as the starter. However, Taylor’s penchant for physical blocking and timing will turn Hart into a swing tackle. – Biggs
12. Green Bay Packers – OL Jonah Williams, Alabama
Green Bay has the ability to go best player available with their pick here. Williams is definitely on that list while also addressing a major concern. Right tackle Bryan Bulaga is beginning to show his age and has struggled the past two seasons. Williams is one of the most complete offensive lineman to come out in recent seasons and is athletic enough for Matt LaFleur’s offense. – Adverderada
13. Miami Dolphins – QB Drew Lock, Missouri
With Ryan Fitzpatrick aboard and no signs of competitiveness on the horizon, the Dolphins have some time to let Lock develop into the quarterback of the future. They could also build the roster around the quarterback and wait until next year to grab their franchise guy with Justin Herbert and Tua Tagovailoa hitting the market. But with Lock available here and abounding in physical tools, it is a good time to pull the trigger. – Smith
14. Atlanta Falcons – DE Rashan Gary, Michigan
Although Gary only flashed during his time at Ann Arbor, his unique skill set affords the Falcons to move Vic Beasley around and keep Takkarist McKinley as a situational pass rusher. On top of that, Gary possesses the power to slide inside and play the three-technique in passing situations. – Biggs
15. Washington Redskins – LB Devin Bush, Michigan
Bush is one of the most athletic defensive players in the entire 2019 draft class. Washington should trade out of this pick to help address other areas of concern. However, if the team stands pat, Bush would be a solid addition to help a defense which struggled for much of the 2018 season. While the defense added Reuben Foster, the young linebacker’s history raises questions if he can stay available for an entire season. – Adverderada
16. Carolina Panthers – Edge Clelin Ferrell, Clemson
Ferrell will both boost the anemic pass rush in Carolina and become an effective edge-setter in run defense. He is a do-it-all end who has the experience and physicality to start right away. – Smith

Ep 38: Tyreek Hill Traded To The Dolphins
by Full Press Coverage on March 24, 2022 at 12:10 am
17. New York Giants – Edge Brian Burns, Florida State
Despite rolling out a new 3-4 defense, Burns fits in perfectly. If the Giant allow him to primarily rush from the edge, his speed and move repertoire will net immediate gains. – Biggs
18. Minnesota Vikings – OT Andre Dillard, Washington State
While Christian Wilkins is tempting, Dillard is the best player available at the Vikings’ greatest position of need. He is the top pure left tackle prospect and best pass protector in the class. That alone makes him the perfect choice to shore up the protection for Kirk Cousins. – Smith
19. Tennessee Titans – Edge Montez Sweat, Mississippi State
Edge rusher is an obvious need for the Titans. Sweat is one of the best left on the board and his play against some talented SEC linemen will go a long way to inspire confidence in Mike Vrabel’s staff. Sweat is versatile in where he can play on the line. There have been rumblings of medical concerns, but this is draft week, so don’t believe everything you hear. – Adverderada
20. Pittsburgh Steelers – WR Hakeem Butler, Iowa State
Now, Juju Smith-Schuster steps out from Antonio Brown’s shadow. Meanwhile, the Steelers need a wideout to complement him. With Butler, Pittsburgh could use his leaping ability and verticality to take the heat off Smith-Schuster. – Biggs
21. Seattle Seahawks – DT Christian Wilkins, Clemson
Trading away Frank Clark has left some holes on the Seahawks’ defensive line. Luckily, a top-tier prospect in Wilkins slipped to them, bringing movability and a penchant for disruptive gap-shooting. – Smith
22. Baltimore Ravens – WR N’Keal Harry, Arizona State
Eventually, John Harbaugh must open up the offense for Lamar Jackson. With that said, he requires weapons. In Harry, the Ravens would employ a tough, physical wideout with startling after-the-catch-ability. – Biggs
23. Houston Texans – OL Cody Ford, Oklahoma
Houston has played fast and loose with Deshaun Watson’s health for too long. Ford is the best remaining line prospect on the board, one who can slot in at guard from the get-go and eventually develop into a stud right tackle. – Smith
24. Oakland Raiders – TE Irv Smith Jr., Alabama
Overall, Mike Mayock loves Alabama players. Next, Jon Gruden collects tight ends. In addition, the team needs to fill the hole Jared Cook left via free agency. Smith’s catch radius and blocking gives Derek Carr the security blanket that he enjoyed with Cook. – Biggs
25. Philadelphia Eagles – CB Byron Murphy, Washington
Injury after injury in the Eagles’ cornerback corps handcuffed them severely a year ago. They need both depth and starting-caliber players at the position. Murphy specializes in reading and reacting as a roaming corner, which fits perfectly into Jim Schwartz’s more conservative system. – Smith
26. Indianapolis Colts – DT Jeffery Simmons, Mississippi State
This is a situation where the best player available happens to fit a significant need. The Colts did well to add add rushers in last year’s draft, but the interior needs bodies. And few bodies are as disruptive and explosive as Simmons. His biggest question mark is the knee injury he incurred in position drills, and whether that could tank his stock even further. – Smith
27. Oakland Raiders – Edge Chase Winovich, Michigan
If the Raiders do not trade one of their lower picks in this round, they need to address the pass rush that tallied less than one sack per game. Winovich brings a technical yet creative approach to pass rushing. By giving tackles multiple moves to think about, he never allows opponents to get comfortable. – Biggs
28. Los Angeles Chargers – OL Dalton Risner, Kansas State
The Chargers have looked to the draft to fix the offensive line the past few years with little to show for it. This time, they get a solid, tenacious blocker in Risner who could play virtually anywhere along the line. And given the numerous gaps in front of Philip Rivers, that versatility carries extra value. – Smith
29. Seattle Seahawks- DE L.J. Collier
With the trade of Frank Clark, the Seahawks need immediate pass rush help. In Collier, Pete Carroll gets a standout end with heavy hands and the ability to stop the run. Plus, he can reduce inside to rush on third downs. – Biggs
30. Green Bay Packers – TE Noah Fant, Iowa
Green Bay missed out on Hockenson earlier, but they grab his more-athletic teammate with their second pick. Fant is a freak with his speed and leaping ability, and should figure into Aaron Rodgers’ red zone plans right away. – Smith
31. Los Angeles Rams – CB Rock Ya-Sin, Temple
Like the Chiefs, the high-scoring Rams need play makers on the backend. If you follow Wade Phillips’ pattern of bruising corners, Ya-Sin is the one. First, he plays with a hands-on physicality that jars wideouts and disrupts timing. He will muscle receivers to the whistle. Moreover, he provides excellent run support. – Biggs
32. New England Patriots – DT Dexter Lawrence, Clemson
Humongous, control-the-line defensive tackles are a staple of Bill Belichick’s defense, dating back to Richard Seymour and Vince Wilfork. While comparing Lawrence to those stars is unfair, he does possess that frightening combination of size and quickness that would look all-too-familiar in the middle of the Patriots’ line. – Smith
