Ric Flair to Miss Starrcast

Due to a surgery, Ric Flair will not be at Starrcast in Las Vegas this weekend. His surgery is expected to be a success, but according to WrestlingInc Flair won’t be healthy enough to travel from Atlanta to Las Vegas.

Flair was scheduled to be the guest of honor at the “Roast of Ric Flair” during Starrcast weekend. He was also supposed to be a part of a panel with Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat at the event.

Rey Mysterio Injured

One night after winning the United States Championship, Rey Mysterio may have to relinquish it. WWE confirmed on Raw that Mysterio has a separated shoulder (h/t Fightful). There is no word on how long Mysterio will be out of action for. WWE did tweet out that next week they would address the state of the United States Championship.

On Raw, Samoa Joe cut a promo where he talked about his shoulder being up when Mysterio pinned him. Joe told Mysterio he should “do the right thing” and give the United States Championship back to him next week.

WWE Had All-Talent Meeting Before MITB

Stephanie McMahon lead an all-talent meeting before Money in the Bank. According to the Wrestling Observer (h/t CagesideSeats) McMahon lead the meeting and mentioned All Elite Wrestling by name as competition. This marks the first time that AEW has been listed as competition internally by WWE.

AEW has their second event, Double or Nothing, on Saturday, May 25th. Chris Jericho of AEW has made it known he sees the company as a threat to WWE. AEW will start airing weekly television in the fall.
