A.K.A. The One With R-Truth Dressed As Daenerys
It’s going to be an exciting Tuesday night on SmackDown Live. Big E is back and joins his New Day brothers back on SmackDown tonight. Plus, Money in the Bank fallout continues. Will Brock Lesnar be around to cash in on Kofi Kingston? Will R-Truth survive the night as the new 24/7 Champion? Plus, Bayley starts her reign as Women’s Champion.
Results:
- Ali def. Andrade
- Mandy Rose vs Carmella goes to a no-contest
- Kofi Kingston def. Sami Zayn. After the match, Kingston is beaten down by Dolph Ziggler.
- Bayley & Becky Lynch def. Lacey Evans & Charlotte
- Roman Reigns def. Elias
Match of the Night: Bayley & Becky Lynch def. Lacey Evans & Charlotte via pinfall with an inside cradle.
This match showcased the two top womens feuds WWE has going currently. Bayley and Lacey Evans, the two newest additions to the top, didn’t look out of place at all. Evans continues to be a heat-magnet in her battles with Lynch. Bayley got her second pinfall on Charlotte, which will surely increase the bad blood between those two. Also, this match showcased how straight fire Lynch is on a hot tag.

Three Thoughts:
New Day is Whole, And A Target
It was great to see Big E back to complete the New Day trio. However, they are now the biggest target in WWE. Big E was hurt backstage by Kevin Owens. After winning a match against Sami Zayn, Kofi Kingston had Paul Heyman taunt him with the Money in the Bank briefcase. In a shocker, Dolph Ziggler appeared and brutalized Kingston. He smashed a chair over Kingston’s neck, but the champ was able to leave under his own power.
So much changes for the New Day here. Will Woods and Big E focus their ire on Owens & Zayn? Ziggler explained that it should have been him who got the opportunity that Kingston got, and they’ll battle at Super Showdown. What else will he do to try and get back the spot that “should have been him”? Lots of intrigue surround the Princes of Positivity.

24/7 Fun
It’s only been two shows, but the 24/7 Championship has already proven to be entertaining. The R-Truth segments with Carmella on tonight’s show were great. From his terrible disguise to actually holding off challengers backstage, R-Truth is carving out his role as the Crash Holly of this title. Any excuse to get R-Truth on television more is a good thing. He’s comedic gold, and can make the green and gold belt something to always pay attention to.
Who is that gorgeous, beautiful woman with @CarmellaWWE? Hmmmm…. who could it be? 🤫😉 #SDLive pic.twitter.com/McKvUu5VQl

Bayley’s Time to Shine
The new SmackDown Live Women’s Champion was a star tonight. She showed fire in her backstage promos, saying she’s more than just hugs. In her tag match, Bayley managed to pin nine-time Women’s Champion Charlotte for the second time in three nights. Bayley had been a bit of an afterthought after dropping the Women’s Tag Titles. Her move to Tuesday nights has lit a fire inside of her. WWE is looking wise for strapping a rocket onto Bayley.
Grade: A
Overall this was a great show top-to-bottom. The in-ring action was stellar as all of the matches that had a decision were good. The show was surprising (Ziggler’s return and attack) and funny (Elias sang Reigns a song from the top of a truck). Nothing to complain about this week.
One More Thing:
Elias needs to appear in random places serenading people more often. How’d he get on top of that truck?
