NXT TakeOver: XXV happens Saturday night and all four NXT championships are up for grabs. Will Undisputed Era end up with some gold by night’s end? Can Io Shirai upend the title reign of Shayna Baszler? FPC Wrestling’s Ryan, Javier, & Evan give their predictions for NXT TakeOver: XXV.

Matt Riddle vs Roderick Strong
Javier: I believe that Riddle wins clean after no members from the Undisputed Era come out to help Strong. This lines Riddle up for a potential championship opportunity and I predict that it won’t be the last time we see Strong that night.
Pick – Matt Riddle
Ryan: Matt Riddle is one of the most exciting wrestlers in the industry right now. He has the “IT” factor and is fun to watch. Strong will give him a quality match and test his wrestling acumen. Ultimately, it makes no sense to see NXT’s resident stepping stone get the victory over The OG Bro.
Pick – Matt Riddle
Evan: Mark this down as “L” number one for Undisputed Era on the night. Riddle is being positioned to be the next challenger to the NXT Championship, so losing to Strong seems out of the question, bro.
Pick – Matt Riddle

NXT North American Championship: Velveteen Dream (c) vs Tyler Breeze
Javier: Part of me really wants to give this one to Breeze to spark the title run he never got his first go around in NXT, but The Dream is just on fire right now and should keep that title until SummerSlam weekend. Dream wins in what I believe will be match of the night.
Pick – Velveteen Dream
Ryan: This has the potential to tear the roof off. The Velveteen Dream and Tyler Breeze are more than capable of putting on an exciting match. Both men are athletically capable and have charisma to spare. It is nice to see Breeze back in the ring, he’s been such a waste on the main roster. In the end, Breeze continues his inability to win the big match, while Dream continues to wait for his call-up.
Pick – Velveteen Dream
Evan: This has the potential to be match of the night. Velveteen Dream has been an absolute star with hit after hit, and Breeze can be seen as the original NXT pretty boy. This match will be more vicious than anyone guesses, but in the end don’t bet against the Dream.
Pick – Velveteen Dream

NXT Tag Team Championship Ladder Match: Street Profits vs Oney Lorcan & Danny Burch vs Forgotten Sons vs Kyle O’Reilly & Bobby Fish
Javier: My prediction is as follows: Fish and O’Reilly come close to winning the titles, but Jaxson Ryker interferes to give the Forgotten Sons the victory. Fish and O’Reilly get no help from Strong or Cole in the match.
Pick – Forgotten Sons
Ryan: When the Viking Raiders relinquished their titles, it was a disappointing end to what was a dominating run in NXT. That said, three out of the four teams (sorry Burch and Lorcan) seem like legitimate contenders. This match will undoubtedly feature a few shocking spots. I’m a Street Profits fan so that is where I’ll go here.
Pick – Street Profits
Evan: Of course a four-team match would be hardest to predict. Street Profits have been wildly entertaining and could make the tag titles very fun. My gut said Undisputed Era, but I see the group potentially continuing their in-fighting soon. For that reason, let’s go Street Profits.
Pick – Street Profits

NXT Women’s Championship: Shayna Baszler (c) vs Io Shirai
Javier: Baszler is the best heel female wrestler in all of professional wrestling and one of the best heels in the business overall. Shirai is one of the best in the world in the ring, but she is not the babyface that will be taking the title from Baszler.
Pick – Shayna Baszler
Ryan: I am a huge Io Shirai fan. It started a few years ago and her move to NXT has only made it easier to enjoy her talent. While it would have been great to see a prolonged run with Kairi Sane, Shirai is more than capable of running on her own. Baszler and the rest of the Horsewomen have run roughshod over the NXT, but this is where it could end. Ultimately it’s a numbers game and I don’t think Shirai can beat the odds
Pick – Shayna Baszler
Evan: Another one steps up, and another one gets knocked down. Baszler has been a force in the NXT women’s division, and it still doesn’t feel like her time to drop the title. She’ll only drop it once she’s going up to the main roster, and that might not happen until Summerslam.
Pick – Shayna Baszler

NXT Championship: Johnny Gargano (c) vs Adam Cole
Javier: The tension within the Undisputed Era finally boils over as I predict that Roderick Strong will come out and cost Adam Cole the match after faking like he would help. Gargano retains, but he is now in the crosshairs of Matt Riddle heading into SummerSlam weekend and Cole will be out for revenge against Strong.
Pick – Johnny Gargano
Ryan: The Two out of Three Falls match was an epic. While topping that showdown is a tall task, this could get close. Both men are phenomenal in the ring. There is a rumor that Gargano is nursing a significant knee injury and could be out for an extended period after the match. Could a title change be coming as a result? I expect this to be a crazy finish to another solid NXT card, with a loud “ADAM COLE BAY BAY!” chant, following the ring announcer’s “and new”.
Pick – Adam Cole
Evan: Gargano and Cole put on a classic at the last NXT TakeOver, and we should expect nothing less here. As heartwarming as Gargano getting his moment was, he’s a great babyface on the chase. Cole will be a smarmy heel champ, and if he gets past Gargano once more could battle Riddle or another rising babyface.
Pick – Adam Cole
We’re unanimous on three matches, but split on the NXT Championship and Tag Team Championships. Who will be victorious on Saturday night? Make sure to follow FPC Wrestling for insight and opinion on all the latest wrestling happenings.
