The Browns brought in Harrison as an undrafted free agent in 2018. Harrison won the starting left tackle job after Joel Bitonio was shifted back to his natural position of left guard at the start of last season.
Harrison started the first eight games of 2018. An injury and the firing of Hue Jackson and Todd Haley lead to the change from Harrison to veteran and former number two overall pick Greg Robinson as the starting left tackle.

The second year pro also arrived late for day one of mandatory minicamp Tuesday. Harrison missed his flight to Cleveland. Wednesday he was informed his services won’t be needed anymore.
The #Browns informed former starting LT Desmond Harrison yesterday they were releasing him. My understanding is, he starting missing or being late to responsibilities. A player with a ton of talent who’ll now go on waivers.

“Missed a flight or something, I am not sure really,” head coach Freddie Kitchens said following day one of mandatory minicamp. I do not know. I have not got to the bottom of it yet. Missed a flight. I know he missed a flight. I do not know what time he got here so it is hard to tell how he got here.”
