On Tuesday, an extended audio recording of an argument between Tyreek Hill and Crystal Espinal was released. This was the argument from Dubai International Airport, where the couple talked over who hurt their son. In this newly released audio recording, Hill denies abusing Espinal and his son.

610 KCSP, a local Kansas City radio station has released this new recording which is over eleven minutes long. The station has had possession of the full audio for a while. They were just waiting for the time they thought was right to release it. TV news station, KCTV5, released parts of the tape back in April. But, many parts from the audio tape were omitted. The omitted parts include the couple arguing over the 2014 incident. This incident was the domestic abuse case in which Hill plead guilty for strangulation on Espinal.

Here are some quotes from the audio tape on the 2014 incident:

TH: “You ruined my life and you lied on me in 2014, bro. And if you want to rewind that night we can rewind that night too. You was in my house. And did I pick you up and slam you? Hell no, I picked you up and put you out my door. After that you left. And on my son you did that, bro. And then you get in the courtroom you want to sit up there and cry on the stand. ‘He hit me, he hit me.’ Man come on, bro.”

CE: “Then where did the bruises come from Tyreek?”

TH: “Did I hit you? Did I hit you though?”

CE: “I’m asking you where did the bruises come from.”

TH: “Did I hit you? Tell me the truth right now in my eyes.”

CE: “We’re not thinking about that.”

Later on in the audio tape, Hill asks Espinal to think about the 2014 incident on the upcoming flight. Quickly after that, Espinal transitions to the child abuse case. She continues to accuse Hill of breaking their son’s arm.

While they argue back and forth, Hill argues he spends more time with the son and plays with him. Hill adds that Espinal knows how much he loves kids, as he talks about past public events.

Finally at the end of the audio recording, Hill expresses regret of having a relationship with Espinal in the first place.

Hill was not charged in the child abuse case. A couple of weeks ago, he met with the NFL for the first time since this new legal trouble started in March. Reports suggest both the NFL and the Chiefs knew of this full audio recording when he met with the league.

Hill’s representation feels the meeting went well. While the Chiefs hope to have him back for the start of training camp, they also feel he may not be suspended at all. That is still yet to be decided. Other reports suggest the Chiefs could re-open contract extension talks with Hill. Which when rumors of extension started, that is when the March legal troubles started.

Tyreek Hill has denied abuse both in this new audio recording, and in a previous four page letter sent to the NFL in May. Will this new update help Hill’s fortunes and his life? We will continue to watch as it unfolds.
