It’s August and in the wrestling world, the month of August means one thing, WWE SummerSlam! Sunday night at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Canada is the 2019 iteration of the show and this event should be exciting.
Sunday night I don’t see many upsets or even title changes but we could see some surprise showings and hopefully some different storylines. I see all champions retaining their belts except for maybe one and let’s face it, all the women’s matches are going to be outstanding and show-stealing!
Here are MyBookie’s opening SummerSlam odds with my final predictions. Keep in my mind my predictions are what the books will want to see happen and what could make further WWE pay-per-views more interesting in an oddsmakers point of view. The last couple of WWE pay-per-views the bettors have been wrong on some of the big matchups so I would be careful with the WWE betting line movement.
WWE RAW Men’s Championship
Brock Lesnar -280
Seth Rollins +220
It’s a WrestleMania 35 rematch in Toronto, Canada and this one should be a bloody mess. When Rollins was the champ it felt like the WWE Universe didn’t catch on and I wasn’t seeing the pop from the crowd when Rollins would come out. That is why I made Lesnar the favorite because I don’t see Rollins as the WWE future champ. Maybe Braun Strowman or Roman Reigns is that answer but right now I don’t feel it for Rollins. Sunday morning I can guarantee we will need Lesnar money because all the bets are coming in on Rollins but if you believe Lesnar wins and retains I say wait because the WWE bettors love the plus money on Seth Rollins.
Prediction: Brock Lesnar
WWE RAW Women’s Championship
Becky Lynch -260
Natalya +200
Submission Match for the RAW Women’s Championship match is really an easy prediction. I know Natalya is in her backyard but no way she becomes the new RAW Women’s champ Sunday night. Unless Ronda Rousey shows up then all rules are out the window. Becky definitely wins this match and if Rousey shows up it will be after the fact.
Prediction: Becky Lynch
WWE Smackdown Men’s Championship
Kofi Kingston -260
Randy Orton +200
This build-up between Orton and Kingston has been really good and I’m excited to see this match. Does the belt change hands Sunday night? I highly doubt it but it wouldn’t shock me to see an RKO outta nowhere and Orton walk away with another championship belt. But again, I highly doubt it. Kingston money will come in all weekend long and Sunday night Kingston retains.
Prediction: Kofi Kingston
WWE Smackdown Women’s Championship
Bayley -160
Ember Moon +140
I hope I’m not the only person who believes that these two female wrestlers got shafted on how they promoted this championship match. The suits in the back gave no justice to Bayley or Ember Moon and I feel bad for both of them. The only thing that could save this match is maybe Sasha Banks returning and screwing one or both. Not much betting action on this Smackdown Women’s Championship match and right now this match could go either way.

Ep 38: Tyreek Hill Traded To The Dolphins
by Full Press Coverage on March 24, 2022 at 12:10 am
Prediction: Bayley
WWE Smackdown Singles Match
Kevin Owens -400
Shane McMahon +300
Career on the line match takes place between these two and the way the money is coming in I see KO keeping his job. Love how Owens has not been shy about accusing the McMahon family keeping the spotlight on them and not other deserving wrestlers and that is why I made Owens the -400 favorite. Some small money came in on Shane but nothing for me to move this number and I see tons of Stone Cold stunners on Shane Sunday night in Canada. Let’s face it, Kevin Owens is also from Canada and I see him getting the biggest pop walking into the ring and out of the ring.
Prediction: Kevin Owens
WWE Smackdown Singles Match
Finn Balor +1600
Bray Wyatt -3500
It’s no secret that Finn Balor is taking some time off after SummerSlam so the AEW rumors will be in full effect and that is why Bray Wyatt is the big favorite here. Absolutely no reason for the suits in the back giving Balor the ‘W’ and I actually hated posting a big betting favorite here but an easy pick for anybody who follows wrestling.
Prediction: Bray Wyatt
WWE RAW United States Championship
AJ Styles -180
Ricochet +160
I’m calling this match right here between Styles and Ricochet match of the night and as a WWE fan, I’m hoping Ricochet wins this match. However, it is probably not the case. Storyline-wise I see Styles retaining the United States Championship here and this number should climb the closer Sunday gets. Ricochet is getting some small action coming in but let’s face it ‘The Club’ will probably do something in this match to keep the belt around Styles waist.
Prediction: AJ Styles
WWE Smackdown Singles Match
Trish Stratus +210
Charlotte Flair -270
The chemistry between these two on TV has been hard to watch and for an oddsmaker, I will be rooting for Canadian Trish Stratus. But I see the Queen taking this match. I do see great value with Stratus +210 because let’s face it fellow Canadian Natalya probably won’t win her match so why not take the plus money on Stratus. My gut is telling me Charlotte wins by the Figure Eight but the few bettors who have jumped on Stratus +210 tells me we have a big upset Sunday night.
Prediction: Charlotte Flair
WWE RAW Singles Match
Goldberg -450
Dolph Ziggler +325
I’m hearing this match was set up because of what happened at Super ShowDown between Goldberg and Undertaker. and if that is the case why do we have to suffer from this train wreck of a match? The money will continue to come in on Goldberg and if this match goes past five minutes I’m going to be pissed.
Prediction: Goldberg
