Matchups to watch: DE Frank Clark vs. LT Will Richardson, CB Jalen Ramsey vs. WR Tyreek Hill
This preview was originally going to only have one matchup to watch, but with reports out, it seems like tackle Cam Robinson is doubtful to play on Sundays Second-year tackle, Will Richardson, will start in his place at left tackle.
For Nick Foles first start in Jacksonville he’ll have Will Richardson as his starting LT. Richardson told us the last time he played LT … one snap at N.C. State and it was on a kneel. Richardson will start in place of Cam Robinson (knee) and T Cedric Ogbuehi (hamstring) is out.

You can see how this can be concerning. It’s even more concerning that he will need to face one of the best edge rushers in the league in Frank Clark. This matchup could be the ultimate decider in whether or not the Jaguars will have a chance at surprising everyone in Week 1 by beating the Chiefs.
The battle between Ramsey and Hill will be pure excitement. For most of the game in last seasons matchup, Ramsey was able to keep Hill in check. We will see how this matchup plays out this time.
Sleeper player to watch: Jaguars WR Chris Conley
Chris Conley is playing his former team in his first career game as a Jaguar. He may have a bit of an edge to him because of this. Watch for him to get a few opportunities to surprise his former team and his new team with some big plays.
Dede Westbrook and Marqise Lee will more than likely get all of the attention from the Chiefs defensive backs. Look for Conley to take advantage of that opportunity against his former team.
Score Prediction: Jaguars 38 Chiefs 35 (OT)
What’s more surprising here? The fact that the Jaguars are being projected to win? Or that they are projected to score 38 points?
With Nick Foles under center and a sense of a new era, the team will have the opportunity to score on this improved Kansas City defense.
They will more than likely have to find ways to help Richardson if he struggles against Clark, and that could be a big factor in the games outcome. Look for the Jaguars to run the ball a lot and also get Dede Westbrook in open spaces.
This game can be either a blowout or be as close as an overtime game. Jaguars football is back guys.
