“It is just another game. It really is. Monday Night Football in the lights. Just trying to get wins.”
Or is it more than just another game for Cleveland Browns wide receiver Odell Beckham. The high profile receiver called out New York Jets defensive coordinator Gregg Williams. It all goes back to when Beckham was with the New York Giants in 2017. Beckham suffered an ankle injury in a preseason game against the Browns. Beckham claims Williams placed a target on him. Williams was the Browns defensive coordinator then.
"I had players on this team telling me that that's what he was telling them to do…take me out of the game."

“That says enough about it. It’s preseason,” Beckham said. “It’s like a known rule, in preseason nobody in the NFL is really out to do stuff like that. I had players on this team telling me that that’s what he was telling them to do, take me out of the game, and it’s preseason. So you just know who he is. That’s the man calling the plays.”
That injury cost Beckham the majority of the 2017 season. It’s an injury that Odell says changed his life. The Browns wide receiver also says Williams coaches cheap shots.
“The only thing I’m buying (for the Monday night game against the Jets) is you know probably just got to watch out for the cheap shots and the dirty hits and all the things that [Williams] likes to teach,” Beckham said. “That’s pretty much all we’ve got to watch out for. Other than that, I expect the same. Two-high safety. I don’t expect much man-to-man. I don’t expect none of that.”
Beckham also said that he won’t let Williams get under his skin on Monday night. Williams is scheduled to meet with the New York media on Friday.
