Considering the circumstances that the Indianapolis Colts have faced over the last month, it comes to my surprise that they are 1.5 point favorites. Both teams stand at 1-1 through two weeks, but the Colts will be missing some key players. Although it is not a must win, this is certainly a winnable game for the “underdog” Atlanta Falcons.
By the numbers, this is actually a game that I like to see. The Colts have players ailing from injury and are still establishing a foundation around Jacoby Brissett. They have one of the better offensive lines in the NFL, but running back Marlon Mack is battling a calf injury. Colts linebacker Darius Leonard has yet to clear concussion protocol, which means he will likely be out on Sunday.
This is a game that is winnable for Atlanta. There are tougher games down the road that could cost the Falcons a couple of wins, so it would be nice to see them take this one. But, forget what I’m saying the professionals say otherwise.
As a betting man, it would be difficult for me to not take the Falcons as the underdogs.
