Match of the Night: PAC vs Hangman Adam Page
This match was very good, which shouldn’t be a surprise. PAC and Hangman are two of the best wrestlers in the world and finally got their AEW match against each other. PAC continued to show why they call him the bastard with a good ol’ groin punch to Page. I don’t wanna say much about this match since it needs to be seen as soon as possible. This matchup will easily headline a PPV someday and I hope it’s sooner than later.

Three Thoughts
First Women’s Champ
Tonight we saw Nyla Rose take on Riho in order to become the first ever AEW Women’s Champion. Congratulations to Riho on pulling off the upset and beating Nyla Rose. Now to be perfectly honest, this match didn’t do much for me. What happened after, well that’s a different story. Michael Nakazawa was interviewing Riho when Rose came from behind to lay him out. As Rose was getting ready to beat up Riho, Kenny Omega came out to stop this.
Now it may not seem like much, but it’s hinting at the potential of intergender wrestling in AEW. If you’ve ever seen a PWG match between the Bucks and Candace LaRae and Joey Ryan, you’ll know that intergender matches can be really good. In recent years WWE has somewhat hinted at it using Nia Jax but never really went all the way with the idea. Hopefully AEW takes the next step and takes this type of wrestling to a mainstream audience.

We The People
Jake Hager has returned to wrestling! I don’t really think there’s much else to say besides that. I mean, he put Dustin through a table so that’s pretty cool. But what else is cooler than Jake Hager going to AEW? Now I’ll quit marking and actually break this down. This is a very interesting move for the former World Heavyweight Champion. A little bit ago, Hager made his MMA debut. During his post-match interview, he talked about his good relationship with Vince McMahon. Now a few months later, Hager made his debut on the rival brand. Clearly something happened between the two, but that doesn’t matter. Jack Hager is back!

Heels and Faces
Piggybacking off of the Jack Hager return is the fact that AEW is stacked with heels and faces. There is currently a problem in WWE, excluding NXT, with having solid heels and faces. Tonight AEW showed that they have very solid heels and faces. At the end of the show, we saw a huge brawl between a ton of faces and heels. This is something that AEW needs. Back in the Monday Night Wars, there were those faces people rallied behind and the heels they wanted to see lose. This helped draw ratings big time, especially with the Stone Cold and Vince rivalry. This is going to help their ratings big time.

Grade: A-
AEW Dynamite was really close to getting a B from me until the ending of the show. The show fell very flat for me. There are significant audio issues which brought me out of the show multiple times and some other production issues I noticed. The good news is that it was their first show, which means it most likely will improve in the future. I’m very hopeful for AEW and love everything they’ve done. Heck, I was at Double or Nothing and All Out. However, they need to learn fast to keep viewers.
One More Thing
MJF.
