NJPW Announces US Subsidiary

The wrestling wars continue with New Japan’s formal expansion into the United States. On Monday, NJPW announced New Japan Pro Wrestling Of America. According to New Japan, the company will begin operations in November.

New Japan shared a map of where they will be hosting shows, without any specific dates shared yet. Two locations known for sure will be Madison Square Garden in New York, and Dallas.

More information is expected in the coming weeks, including dates for shows. For now, we at least know another big player is making moves in the American wrestling market. Read NJPW’s full press statement here.

Xavier Woods Injured

During WWE’s show in Sydney, Australia, New Day member Xavier Woods suffered an injury. He went down during a match with Big E against The Revival. Reports and a tweet from Woods himself say the injury is an Achilles Tendon injury.

 

New Day was drafted to Friday Night SmackDown during the WWE draft. The severity of the injury is currently unknown. No timetable has been set for Woods’ return, but we wish him a speedy recovery.

WWE Mexico Supershow – Cain Velasquez Opponent Revealed

On November 30th, WWE has a Supershow in Mexico City. It was already announced that Cain Velasquez would be teaming with Rey Mysterio at the show. Their opponents have now been revealed to be Andrade & Drew McIntyre, according to WWE’s Espanol Twitter account (h/t WrestlingInc).

Other matches announced for the show include Bray Wyatt & Seth Rollins facing off inside a Steel Cage for the Universal Championship, Roman Reigns versus King Corbin, and Bayley & Sasha Banks versus Becky Lynch & Charlotte.
