WWE Hall of Famers Announced For AEW Dynamite Next Week

This week, DDP was the latest wrestling legend to appear on AEW Dynamite. AEW has already announced another pair for next week. Robert Gibson & Ricky Morton, known as the Rock n Roll Express, will be at Dynamite next week. It was announced by AEW’s Twitter account. The pair will present the AEW World Tag Team Championships to the winners of the tournament.

The finals of the Tag Team Championship tournament will see So-Cal Uncensored face the Lucha Bros. Having the Rock n Roll Express presenting the titles gives them a little more prestige for their debut.

NXT UK Notes

Sometimes lost in the shuffle of weekly wrestling, NXT UK continues to be a solid hour of wrestling every week. This week’s results (h/t WrestlingInc):

  • Grizzled Young Veterans def. Ashton Smith & Oliver Carter
  • Ligero versus Travis Banks ends in a draw due to double-pinfall
  • Trent Seven def. Noam Dar

Next week, NXT UK will be at a special time. It will be moved to 11 am EST, 3 pm BST. This is due to WWE’s latest Saudi Arabia show. The show will also include the debut match of A-Kid, a 22-year-old Spanish newcomer.

Randy Orton Contract Update

WWE Superstar Randy Orton got the attention of internet wrestling fans earlier this week with an “elite” instagram:

The caption of the post said “tick tock tick tock” and tagged many wrestlers in AEW and WWE. This includes Chris Jericho and Cody from AEW, and The Revival, Luke Harper, Riddick Moss and Elias from WWE. It also was geotagged in Jacksonville, home base of AEW owner Tony Khan.

According to Fightful, Randy Orton’s contract is up in the summer of 2020. He originally signed a 10-year deal in 2010. Fightful also notes that WWE may have tacked some more time onto his deal due to time missed in the last decade due to injury or absence.

Finally – it’s still real to them, damn it.
